We have delayed sending out this newsletter for too long and we know you must be wondering what’s happening here.
Firstly we would just like to say that our previous visit to SA was very successful. The DVD that Hannes De Bruyn (hannes@vibe-studios.com) made for us is wonderful and a good tool to visually display our cause here. It has already opened many doors for us and the DVD is on its way to the USA and the UK. Approximately 400 DVD’s has been sent out and there are still people requesting more. We want to thank Hannes and Carol for the huge gift. We know that God will kindly repay their good deeds.
We want to thank Fanie and Benita Croukamp who financially contributed to the project. They are very dear to us.
We now have a new website, www.mozambique-orphans.co.za for you to visit. It will be regularly updated with new information. For this we would like to say thanks to Henno Scheepers from WSI, for all the effort and for his future work. We really appreciate it a lot because we know how much work goes into managing a website.
Lastly, thank you to each supporter. Without you we would not be able to continue the work here while trying to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in Mozambique.
So many things have happened since we’ve been back that I don’t even know where to start. When we arrived back in May we made contact with an amazing group of young Americans. They are from the World Race Organization http://www.theworldrace.org/. They are reaching out to 9 countries in 11 months. Half of their group (11) came to stay with us and helped us tremendously.
During there visit they stayed over in Tamane with the orphans and served them. One evening we showed a Jesus film in Fakete. At the end of the show the people were invited to come forward for prayers and heeling. A man with named Thomas came forward and asked that we should pray for him, because his hearing was very bad. Two days later he came to our house to fetch a Bible. He now attends every Sunday. Two Sundays back he announced that he had hearing problems for 15 years and that his hearing is now perfect. Praise the Lord for his healing.
From the 25th of June until the end of July 5 teams will be visiting over this period. We needed approximately R 30000.00 to finish our bathrooms. One of our teams have already collected R 28 000.00 and there are many more promises regarding money that have been made. They will now help us to complete the building work.
My negotiations with the Mozambique Government last week were concluded. The Government gave us written consent to work with all of the orphans in Mozambique. The school in Tamane officially asked us to help the orphans and other children. It seems like the government is going to allow us to teach English classes at the State school. All of these factors are helping us to gain residential permits. Please pray for that to happen. The government is also prepared to give us a piece of land in Tamane to build an orphanage. Please pray for this and also the funding needed for the construction work.
Our current multi media projector is broken, but I recently heard that a brand new one will be arriving this coming Monday. We are very thankful for this. Danie Botha daniebotha.co.za will be visiting us during the last week of July. He will be performing on various occasions and we trust that we will reach many people during his visit. Please pray seriously about this.
In August two teams will be joining us and we hope for the same during September. Please pray for these people.
We will include more info on other out reaches in our next newsletter. Thanks a lot for your support and prayers.
With love
Jaco, Maria, Maggie and Rudo
